Welcome to Redeeming Grace Church, a new fellowship in Alton, IL. We meet in a home in the Upper Alton area, at 3030 Brown Street. We come together to joyously worship our God and Savior who gave Himself for us, to open the Word of God in preaching and mutual encouragment, to pray together and enjoy fellowship, and to live lives for His glory alone. We want to be a gospel witness to Alton and by God's grace to see many souls come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ as we boldly take the gospel to family, friends, neighbors and to the streets.
We want to help the saints grow to be worshipers of Jesus Christ, lovers of His and out of hearts full of joy and love for Jesus to live lives that show gratitude, love, thankfulness and worship to our God who loves us and gave His blood to redeem us and bring us home to heaven and rescue from His eternal wrath.
To learn more about our beliefs, our Mission and Vision Statements and Core Values, hover over the "About Us" tab at the top of any page and there will be a drop-down menu with several helpful selections.
Our meetings are not overly structured, but always have the serious preaching of the Word of God, wonderful hymns and spiritual songs, time of prayer, sharing of scripture for mutual encouragement, and time of fellowship. Our time together is filled with expressions of the joy and love we have in Jesus Christ who "loves us and has released us from our sins by His blood (Revelation 1:5). The Word of God is preached with seriousness, power, and desire for God to be glorified and the saints encouraged and fed. We desire also for any without Christ to find salvation in Jesus Christ through the preaching of God's Word. We sing hymns and spiritual songs with great joy. We also have time of mutual encouragement and prayer, we encourage participation by all true believers. We also enjoy time of fellowship with one another. Our meetings are not rushed. We encourage casual attire by all. You will not be entertained at Redeeming Grace Church, but we trust that you will sense the presence, power and love of God as we meet with Him and as He "rejoices over us with shouts of joy" (Zephaniah 3:17)!
At Redeeming Grace Church, we desire to see God raise up serious-minded followers of Jesus Christ. Therefore, the preaching and teaching are filled with scripture that we know the Holy Spirit will use to mature us and bear fruit to the glory of God. It is our vision that from this little fellowship, God would raise up laborers for the harvest who He would send in the power of the Holy Spirit with the gospel to the lost and perishing world around us. It is our desire that "those who sit in darkness will see a great Light" and come to faith and repentance in Jesus Christ.
Evangelism is the spreading of the "evangel", the good news or gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the gospel, the good news published in the Scriptures as God's one means by which to pay for the sins of all who turn to Jesus Christ for salvation.
Evangelism is a joy and a duty. Every true Christian will desire to take the saving gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost around them. We are reminded weekly of the loving and gracious work that Jesus accomplished for us on the cross. He died for our sins according to the scriptures (I Corinthians 15:3,4). All true believers can say that "Jesus gave Himself for our sins (Galatians 1:4) and "Jesus loved me and gave Himself up for me" (Galatians 2:20).
We share the gospel in one-on-one conversations, in open air preaching in passing out gospel tracts, campus preaching, talking with Jr. High students on their way to school, holding up gospel signs at intersections, and going to different events where we have ample opportunity to strike up conversations with those without Jesus Christ.
The reality is, a person without Jesus Christ is on their way to an eternal hell. They are rebels against God, His enemies. Their only hope is to turn in faith to Jesus Christ and call upon Him to save them (Romans 10:9-13). Salvation is all of God's grace. Man is unable to earn salvation (Ephesians 2:1-10). Salvation is a gift from God, "for the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
